Hi, I'm Krystal!

Sharing 4 Affirmations for Imposter Syndrome that I’m holding onto this month // Mental Health

In today’s society, everyone has an answer for everything. You can find a guru for almost any niche on Instagram or TikTok. And yet, so many people still struggle with imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome, is defined as is a behavioral health phenomenon described as self-doubt of intellect, skills, or accomplishments among high-achieving individuals.

Triggers for imposter syndrome can look like:

  • You’re a perfectionist, and you deem anything less than perfection a failure
  • You’ve started a new job, school, or passion project and you don’t feel like you deserve to be there
  • You feel like you’ve received accolades for something that other people seem to “work harder” for
  • You compare yourself to people who have more experience than you, and set high expectations.

The crazy thing is even people that aren’t “high-achievers” still struggle with symptoms of imposter syndrome. I can’t tell you how much I struggle with this on a daily basis, and consider myself a Type B personality. However, I’ve come to realize two things.

  • (1) It isn’t normal, or common, to learn all the skills you need for your career, passion, or LIFE, all at once.
  • (2) The only way to conquer imposter syndrome is to: Do. It. Afraid.

Realizing this has been foundational for me, because it has allowed me to get out of my head, and into the moment, regardless of how afraid I am. I’ve also decided to write affirmations for the moments that imposter syndrome gets the best of me. So I decided to share 4 affirmations for Imposter syndrome that I’ve recently written this week. I hope that it encourages you to do that thing you love, or that you’re good at, even if you’re doubtful or afraid.

If you related to this post, share it with someone who might appreciate it as much as you do. Wishing you a peaceful September.

You are capable of anything you put your mind to. Get out of your own way.

It’s ok to not be sure of something while you’re learning. That doesn’t make you less capable.
