Hi, I'm Krystal!

This Kale Mango Peach Green Smoothie is tart, sweet, and satisfying. It’s a great way to get some extra veggies and fruit in your day. You’ll also get some nourishing fiber and protein in this. I’d say that’s killing two birds with one stone.

Green smoothies can be a delicious way to get some fruits and veggies into your day. However, most people imagine green smoothies, and think that it’s going to taste like cardboard. The key to making a green smoothie is to add a large amount of leafy veggies, then pair it with a sweet fruit. Your base, aka your liquid, will also determine how sweet the blend is. For this smoothie, I went with coconut water, because I liked the subtle sweetness that it gave. Also, when you pair natural, no sugar added coconut water, with fruit and veggies, you won’t have to add any sugar because it’s naturally sweetened.

Ingredients for Kale Mango Peach Green Smoothie:

  • Kale: I used Lacinato aka Dinosaur kale for this smoothie because I love the color it gives. Kale is also a great, high fiber leafy green to add to smoothies. It’s also high in vitamin A, which is great for your immune system.
  • Banana: Naturally sweetener for smoothies, and high in potassium.
  • Granny Smith apples: Adds a tart, refreshing flavor to the smoothie, that cuts the sweetness of the banana
  • Coconut Water: I like Harmless Harvest Coconut water because it has a little sweetness to it, and adds some electrolytes to the smoothie like potassium and magnesium (#notsponsored)
  • Mango & Peaches: Give a tropical twist to this smoothie
  • Greek Yogurt: Adds some protein to this smoothie to balance out the carbohydrates
  • *optional, Ice cubes if you’re fruit isn’t frozen

Is there another way I can increase the protein in this besides Greek yogurt?

  • You can add your favorite protein powder to this, to boost up the protein.
  • You can use dairy-free, greek yogurt if you’re vegan, or lactose intolerant.
  • You can add chia seeds, flax seeds, or hemp seeds for some extra protein and fat.
  • You can also try silken tofu which is often the preferred type of tofu for smoothies.
